Eine Aufgabe von Wahlhelferinnen und Wahlhelfern in Deutschland ist es, die ordnungsgemäße Durchführung der Wahlen sicherzustellen. Dazu gehört die Vorbereitung und Organisation des Wahllokals, die Überprüfung der Wahlberechtigung der Wählerinnen und Wähler, die Ausgabe der Stimmzettel, die Unterstützung bei Fragen zum Wahlvorgang, die Überwachung der Wahlurne während des Wahlvorgangs sowie die Auszählung der Stimmen nach Schließung des Wahllokals.
